For those interested, I have PT8 LE running quite smoothly on the release candidate of Windows 7(64-bit edition). It installed without any problems and works nicely with the newest version of Windows. I had issues with Vista and Pro Tools, but this was mainly due to the fact that I was using the 32-bit version of Vista. Once I upgraded to the 64-bit version, which removes the 4GB RAM restriction of a 32-bit Windows OS, Pro Tools worked fine. It seems to utilize the extra RAM and makes good use of it with Pro Tools. Digidesign doesn't "officially" support 64-bit versions of Vista or Windows 7, but I have not had any issues come up.
p.s. Windows 7 is, IMHO, Microsoft's best effort so far with their OS. It has the speed and easy access of XP, the gloss and shine of Vista, and just seems to be much more responsive and quicker.
