For all of you Pro Tools 8 users out there, we have a new batch of key commands that I have been using a lot lately. The following key commands work for whatever track your edit cursor is on. If your cursor is on multiple tracks, these commands will work for all of those tracks.
Shift + S will Solo those tracks. Shift + M will Mute those tracks. Shift + I will place those tracks into 'Input Only' monitoring (HD only) Shift + R will record enable those tracks.
Another related trick to try out is using the Solo shortcuts to audition different tracks. Try this out on a vocal:
1. Record your vocal take 1 on a track. 2. Record your vocal take 2 on a separate track. 3. Solo Take 1. 4. Place your edit cursor on both the Take 1 and Take 2 tracks. 5. Press Shift + S.
The Solo will flip from Take 1 to Take 2. Pressing Shift + S again will flip it back. How easy is that to audition two separate tracks using a key command?
Enjoy!

I was just wondering what the shortcut command would be to record enable tracks.
AWESOME!!!
It will really save me some time while I am recording in my studio alone.
